Promoting the Use of AI to Solve Real-World Problems
AI Ghana is a non-profit organization, run by the AI Ghana community, focused on promoting the use of Artificial Intelligence in solving real-world problems in Ghana, Africa and beyond.
Artificial Intelligence has become very essential in recent times, as it is now one of the main tools used for solving the major problems we face daily. Ghanaians, and Africans at large, are faced with many challenges that can be solved using AI — however, there is a paucity of AI talent in our part of the world to take up these challenges. That is exactly the gap we exist to close.
Our Vision & Mission
Our vision is to promote the use of artificial intelligence in solving real-world problems in Ghana, Africa and beyond.
Our mission is to provide technical AI skills to students and tech enthusiasts, enabling them to identify and solve real problems in their communities and organizations using the skills they acquire.
In five to ten years, we aim to be the number one go-to organization and community for AI talents. We achieve this through the use of MUM — Mentorships, University Chapters, and Meetups.

A Message from Our President
Welcome to AI Ghana!
When we co-founded this community in 2020, our vision was clear: to build a home for AI innovation that is distinctly Ghanaian, yet unapologetically African in its reach. We saw a continent brimming with talent and challenges, and we knew that the solutions to our most pressing problems (in agriculture, healthcare, education, and beyond) would be best solved by us, with our own data and our own ingenuity.
Today, that vision is becoming a reality. AI Ghana is more than just a network; we are a growing movement. From our mentorship programs and monthly webinars to our vibrant AI Afahyɛ, we are equipping the next generation of technologists with the practical skills they need to build, deploy, and scale AI for impact. We are breaking down barriers, ensuring that no one is left behind through initiatives like Divas in AI Ghana, and fostering collaboration across the continent.
But our journey is just beginning. As we look to the future, we are committed to strengthening our partnerships across Africa, and ensuring that the AI we build is ethical, inclusive, and serves the many, not just the few.
Whether you are a seasoned researcher, a curious student, or an entrepreneur with a bold idea, there is a place for you here. The future of AI in Africa will not be written by others; it will be written by us, together.
Join us. Let's build, innovate, and transform Ghana and Africa through AI.
Warm regards,
John Bagiliko
President, AI Ghana
