AI Ghana is a non-profit organization, run by the AI Ghana community, focused on promoting the use of Artificial Intelligence in solving real-world problems in Ghana, Africa and beyond.
Artificial Intelligence has become very essential in recent times, as it is now one of the main tools used for solving the major problems we face daily. Ghanaians, and Africans at large, are faced with many challenges that can be solved using AI — however, there is a paucity of AI talent in our part of the world to take up these challenges. That is exactly the gap we exist to close.

Our vision is to promote the use of artificial intelligence in solving real-world problems in Ghana, Africa and beyond.
Our mission is to provide technical AI skills to students and tech enthusiasts, enabling them to identify and solve real problems in their communities and organizations using the skills they acquire.
In five to ten years, we aim to be the number one go-to organization and community for AI talents. We achieve this through the use of MUM — Mentorships, University Chapters, and Meetups.

A Message from Our President
John Bagiliko is the president and co-founder of AI Ghana. He is also a Ph.D. student at the University of Rwanda, and is passionate about using data, statistics, data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to help African rainfed farmers. His current research is around improving satellite rainfall estimates in the African rainfed setting.
John is also passionate about community development. He served as the country ambassador of Zindi in Ghana from 2020 to 2022 and helped build vibrant data science and AI communities in Ghana — including AI Ghana itself.

Mentees join one-on-one mentor–mentee sessions for knowledge sharing, collaborate in research groups on AI projects (producing research papers, software applications and more), and connect with partner organizations for internships — often being absorbed by those organizations by the end of their studies.
